The Weather Now
Yearly Weather Guide
Being an island within the Canary Islands means Fuerteventura has a good all year round climate, with warm temperatures in the winter months, and hot summers. In the winter months, you can expect daytime temperatures to reach the high teens, with nighttime temperatures well above 10°C. The summer months are much more pleasant than what you would expect in southern Spain, with temperatures only just reaching 30°C during the day and 20°C at night.
If you are planning to visit in the winter months then you should still pack some warmer clothes as in shade areas or at night, it can feel a still get little cool.
The rainfall on the island is very low all year round. In the summer months, there is no rain at all, and in the winter, there will be less than 2 cm a month. Typically, when it rains it will be a short period of heavy rain and then it will clear up very quickly.
One thing to be aware of is the wind. Fuerteventura is very popular for windsurfers as there is plenty of wind offshore, and the island itself is quite windy, as its name suggests. The strongest winds are on the northern and eastern sides of the island as the wind comes from this direction. The wind speed is typically less than 15 mph, so it is nothing to be concerned about and it will not affect your holiday.
